Daniel was born on 30 April 1792 to William Atack and Ann (nee Knapton). He was baptised on 27 May 1792 at St Matthew’s Church
Daniel married Sarah Bilton at Rothwell on 7 September 1812. They had the following children:
- Ann (b. 1813)
- Mary Atack (1818-1819)
- Samuel (b.1820)
- Elizabeth (b.1821)
- William (1827-1893)
- Daniel (1833)
Daniel worked as a carpenter and by the time of the 1851 census was employing three people. The family were living on Town Street.
Daniel died on 5 May 1859.
Probate reads
27 June. The Will of Daniel Atack late of Potternewton in the Parish of Leeds in the County of York Wheelwright deceased who died 5 May 1859 at Potternewton aforesaid was proved at Wakefield by the oaths of William Atack and Daniel Atack both of Potternewton aforesaid Wheelwrights the Sons and the Executors.
