Kate Nicholson was born on 21 March 1856 to Richard Nicholson and Alice Ann. She was baptised at St Matthew’s Church on 20 April 1856, thre register records that the family lived at Gledhow Grove and that Richard was a gardener.
Kate died at the age of 10 months in early 1857 and was buried in the churchyard at St Matthew’s on 18 January 1857. Her broken gravestone is shown below:
