Francis Boggett was born in Rothwell Haigh about 1846 to Thomas Boggett and Ann (nee Brown).

The 1851 Census shows Fracnis living at Bell Hill in Rothwell Haigh with his parents and younger brother Brown. His father was an agricultural labourer (Ag.Lab.)

At the time of 1861 Census the family had moved to Allerton Grange. Brown was 15 years old working with his father, mother as agricultural labourers.

Francis married Ada Mary Shaw on 25 December 1869 at St Matthias Church in Burley. He is described as being a farmer, as is his father. Ada was the daughter of William Shaw, a gardener in Burley.

The 1871 Census shows Francis and Ada living at Hill View, Fracnis was described as an Agricultural Labourer.

Francis died on 18 April 1874 and was buried in the graveyard at St Matthew’s in Chapel Allerton on 21 April.
