Grace Teal was born about 1837, probably in the Wortley area of Leeds, to Richard Nicholson and Rosie (nee Smith)
Grace married Henry Teal on 1 April 1861 at St Matthias Church in Burley. She is shown to have been a cloth weaver and Henry was a gardener. They had the following children:
- Mary Ann (1862-1947)
- Elizabeth (1864-1945
- Arthur Henry (1871- )
Henry died in December 1881. By the time of the 1911 census Grace was 74 years old and had moved to live with her daughter, Mary Ann, who was now married to William Charles Brooks. They were living at 37 Harrogate Road in Chapel Allerton.
Grace died on 30 May 1911 and was buried in the graveyard at St Matthew’s, Chapel Allerton on 2 June 1911.
