Elizabeth was born on 27 September 1864, she was the daughter of Henry Teal and Grace (nee Nicholson). She was baptised on 8 January 1865 in the church of St John the Baptist in New Wortley, Leeds.

In the 1901 Census, Elizabeth was working as a servant in the household of Wilfred L Hepton at 194 Chapeltown Road in Potternewton.

At the time of the 1911 Census Elizabeth was working as a cook at Newton Green Hall in Potternewton. I’m not sure whose household this was at the time but it was probably the Lupton family.

The 1939 Register for England and Wales shows that Elizabeth was living at 37 Harrogate Road with her sister, Mary Ann, and her husband William Charles Brooks.

Elizabeth died on 12 June 1945 and was buried on 15 June in the graveyard at St Matthew’s Church in Chapel Allerton.
