Whitaker, William (C.1770-1813)

William Whitaker was born about 1770. He married Eleanor Skelton on 26 December 1793 at St Peter’s Church, the main parish church in the centre of Leeds. From the baptism of his two eldest children we know that he lived at Water Lodge in Leeds but we don’t know where that was yet though it may have been in Holbeck.

William and Eleanor had the following children:

• Richard Skelton (1797-1829)
• Sarah (1799-1828)
• John (1804-1835)
• Mary (1807-1809)
• Willameanor (died in infancy)

William died on 24 January 1813 and was buried on 27 January 1813. His gravestone is shown below
